Jefferson County Drug Task Force



The Jefferson County Drug Task Force was created in the spring of 2008. We conduct narcotics investigations throughout Jefferson County, Ohio, which is comprised of approximately 68,000 residents. Our headquarters are in Steubenville, which is the largest city in the county with approximately 18,000 residents.

Participating Agencies – Steubenville Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, DEA, BCI, and U.S. Marshal Service

Captain Chris Vinci is the Commander of the Jefferson County Drug Task Force (JCDTF) and a 22-year veteran of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of roles, including corrections officer, road deputy, detective, and K9 handler.

Since joining the Narcotics Division in 2012, Captain Vinci has taken on several leadership roles. He currently serves as the Narcotics Division Supervisor, K9 Division Supervisor, and Fleet Manager. In 2025, he was appointed Commander of the JCDTF. He also serves on the Jefferson County Special Response Team, the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission, and the U.S. Marshals’ Mountain State Fugitive Task Force. **
